anybody need about 10 mostly-good 9v batteries?

They have all been very lightly used in a wireless mic, but still test OK using my multimeter. We don't need them around the house, so just thought I'd offer them for the cost of shipping before recycling them.

post or PM me to express interest.

Smoke Alarms ?

Or.. you can give them to a local Boy Scout Troop. Oddly enough the scouts are taught that a 9V battery and a little steel wool makes a great fire starter. It's a rank requirement.

I'll take them. I have driveway alert that eats one a week.

I finally figured out what to do with the 9-volt batteries in our smoke detectors that I change twice a year. I got 2 of these, which are 9-volt batteries with a small casing with a on/off switch and an led lightbulb. I left one on continuously, and it lasted for a week! They're surprisingly bright. I paid $26 (including shipping) for 2 of them from Amazon. There are other models around, and there may be better deals around. (Pak-lite-LED-Flashlight-Basic-Economy)

Perfect opportunity to upgrade to a solar power pack on that beast.

I have lots of mostly good 9 volts that weren't good enough to convince smoke detectors--- if this thing were just a hair cheaper it would be pretty attractive.

Go for this one, for about $6 delivered on eBay (shipped from Hong Kong).
