We in the process of choosing a new insurance company as our current provider, AllState, decided to increase our premiums by 12% even though neither my wife nor I have had an accident, let alone a ticket, in over 20 years. After reading that story earlier in the week, Progressive will not be on our list.

I think you will find that this would be SOP for them all. It's more of a reality of the legal system than anything else. Most people will tell you to hire a lawyer because you have to sue your insurance company in big cases.

I would like to go viral against a crooked company but I am afraid of being counter sued after reading about companies doing that.

I heard the husband interviewed and Progressive is really a scuzzball. The amt of money was piddling...the family only wanted the 65,000 stated by the policy for an underinsured driver hitting the wife and killing her. They have spent more than that on Lawyers, I bet.
