Kernel Panic with Fresh ML download & install - Help!
#1
13" MBP 2.7GHZ i7 8GB RAM, 500MB HD
With Mac OS 10.6.8 I cleaned up my files, leaving only a few on the Desktop, ran Cocktail, repaired Permissions, ran Time Machine, then created a bootable clone of the HD with Disk Utilities. Next I purchased Mountain Lion from the App Store. ML was downloaded and installed. When I try to restart under ML all I get is Kernel Panics.

Suggestions??

I restarted from the clone and, using Disk Utility, I repaired the internal HD. Now the MBP starts from that internal HD and About This Mac says it has Mac OS 10.6.8. I'm back where I started! Mac OS 10.8 was not installed, I guess. Has anyone here heard of that happening before?

Are you sure that you weren't booted from the clone when you installed 10.8?

Do it over again.

This morning I restarted the MBP holding down the Option key and two partitions showed up. One was entitled "Install OSX" and the other had the name of my hard disk. It proceeded to install 10.8.2. So I guess the problem is over. Since I am new to Mountain Lion I can't tell if every thing is ok but it appears to be.
