A few more Venice pics from the never-ending backlog
#1
A few from this week's editing mostly for monochrome prints. Got the 13,000 down to about 900 as possible selections for the book now. Plus the 600 selections from the 10,000 shots from prior trips. Still way too many. Back to editing down the selections further...

Equip used: Sony A900 and a65 camera bodies, Minolta 50 1.7, 135 28, 17-35 2.8, 24-105 3.5-4.5, Sigma 12-24 4-5.6, Sony Zeiss 85 1.4, Zeiss Jena 50 2.8 medium format on tilt/shift adapter, HVL-F58AM strobe.

Beautiful images — the first four are outstanding. I assume you do your editing in Lightroom and Photoshop?

All of these are from lightroom and NIK software plugins (viveza and silver FX). I only use photoshop for the heavy lifting such as removing or altering major parts of image, something I find myself doing less and less.

Beautiful, thanks for posting! Any idea when we can expect the book?

Very nice work. I like the first one and horse statue pic.
I got DXo Film Pack to look at how images will look if I had shot them with film. Some look pretty good and some not so good. If I had gotten the results that DXo shows with their Tri-X example, I'd be ashamed... I like some of the Polaroid effects they have (in B&W).
After the post about Kodachrome I did a few samples in DXo's Kodachrome filters but, truly, I never shot a lot of KR so I'm not sure if they're good renditions of it. Maybe I'll post some pix with DXo filters applied and see what this august forum thinks.
