6ft MFi Certified Lightning™ to USB Charge/ Sync CABLE for iPad® 4, IPHONE® 5, and iPod® (latests with lightning plug) - Black $12.56 plus shipping.

Coupon code: CATALOG12 or INCENTIVE are two coupons that have worked in the past.

Monoprice's lifetime warranty on their cables is the main reason for me ordering cables from them. They stand behind their cables from my past experiences with them.

Been waiting for these to come in stock. Monoprice finally has them.
I have tried different generic lightning cables from Amazon and ebay to see if there was any viable alternatives to Apple's OEM lightning cable. From the generic cables I have tried. They have failed miserably. One lost its head and the other lost its sleeve. I didnt expect much from the generics, so no surprise there.

I ordered the Amazon branded lightning cable (cost was $14.99) and it was returned as the end does not fit my iPod when in this case. The Apple original lightning cable's end is skinnier than the Amazon cord, and it also looks skinnier than the Monoprice one, so just a heads up when ordering lightning cables as they may not fit your specific case. I would be happy to pay less for an extra cable, but as of now, all of the non Apple cords look too fat to work for my solution. Besides, if the cable fails* within a year, I will bring them back to my Apple store and they will replace them for me.

* I regularly buy the iPhone dock connector cables in bulk on EBAY (last purchase was 20 for $13) and when they fail (usb cap breaks off, dock pins get bent), I just throw them in my electronics recycling box and open another one. Not saying this about the Amazon or Monoprice cables, as they look pretty sturdy, but I have seen some relatively cheap lightning cables ($4 - $6) and many commenters said that they were not so well built.

I've had the same problem with Micro-USB cables not fitting the case for my 4S.

Trimming the offending end with a sharp knife fixed that. Care taken, the result is 100% functional with aesthetics suffering only slightly.

Those monoprice cables may need the deft touch of a Dremel.
