No discounts. Just bite the bullet and get it from Alsoft. I'd get it soon, as I am personally thinking there may be an update coming, and buying now would guarantee a cheap or free upgrade.

As others have said, just install DW 4.4 on your drive , then make a new bootable backup clone on an external drive. Now you can boot into either drive and run DW on the other drive. I've been doing that for several years.

     diskutil -- modify, verify and repair local disks



SYNOPSIS

     diskutil [quiet] verb [options]



DESCRIPTION

     diskutil manipulates the structure of local disks.  It provides information about,

     and allows the administration of, the partitioning schemes, layouts, and formats of

     disks. This includes hard disks, solid state disks, optical discs, CoreStorage vol-

     umes, and AppleRAID sets.  It generally manipulates whole volumes instead of individ-

     ual files and directories.
