The J430w has been available for 22 months; its 'street price' never approached $100.

It's actually being replaced by a new model, the MFC-J470DW; which adds auto-duplexing among its list of features. But, don't take my word for it, check it out here.

btw, its 'street price' is shown as $99.95

probably correct, I did not check the price history and I have no reason to doubt you.

irrelevant. Some people just want this model.

look on Amazon at current prices for Canon Pixma MP560 (I got one for $50) and now it sells for $300 new and $115 USED.

another example: Canon PIXMA MX870. Used to sell for $80 in clearance at Staples. Now it is $361 new and $150 used.

I shall laugh again in one year when this bother Printer sells for $100+

space-time may be right. I had been waiting for this Printer to come back on sale again.

I still have a cheapie sealed Canon Pixma 2120 printer/scanner that I bought because it was cheaper than ink for my Epson R200 @ $20.00 free shipping and a sealed Epson All In One that I am planning to Craigslist or ebay now that I have the Brother J430

Wonder if the new J470DW will use "cheap ink"?

Is there an emoticon for "my, you're taking this rather personally, aren't you?" among the new batch?
