The idea of quick/instant startup is nice, but so many of us leave our computer on 24/7 as it is, so that doesn't seem as important as it once was. But I'm sure that there are many people who would like it.

If something like that *were* to appear in a Mac Mini, for instance, it could go along well with the entertainment center appeal of the Mini. Turn on your TV and your Mini and they're both ready to go in a couple seconds.
