Is AT&T Unlimited Data plan going away?
#1
I was just looking at my new AT&T contract from getting my 5S yesterday. While they did renew my unlimited data plan for $30/month (confirmed on ATT.com), the receipt has it listed as "$30.00 Retired - Unlimited DATA iPhone 5 with VVM."

I'm hoping that just means that I'm on a retired plan and not that MY plan will be retired after completing this contract (i.e. next renewal). I'm going to confirm this at an AT&T store this morning.

This is all FUD on my part, but has anyone else noticed this on their contract or heard anything about this?

Yes (what you think it means - not going away) - just means that it is a(n old) plan they no longer offer any to new customers.

Internal labels.

it disappeared quiet some time ago....I think 2-4 years ago....those who had it and remained a customer still have it but otherwise.....we were stuck with only one option until recently they finally opened up to higher data plans.....

FYI-The "unlimited" data plan with AT&T as we know is not always been truly unlimited. They actually throttle your speed after a certain amount of data use. It is 3 GB for 4G, but the bonuses, those of us that have LTE, the throttling does not start until 5 GB. This is the only thing that keeps me with AT&T, I like the ability to use up to 5 GB with impunity. I rarely go over 2 GB. I just want that as an option. I use freedom pop if I need other devices hooked up, since unlimited doesn't allow us to tether.

Not to be a Sprint fanboi--and I know it's not feasible in all areas--but they have unlimited data.
