Replacing battery in an APC smart ups 1500. What next?

Replaced the bad battery with a new one from gruber.

What are the next step? Do I have to update the internal software? or just plug an play?

Some APC models require a reset that can only be done using their software package on Windows. Otherwise the UPS acts as if you never replaced the batteries. You would have to check your specific model's manual.
