My first original graphite lasted about 3 years before failing due to the capacitor problem. Apple sent me a beat-up refurb. This one's (another graphite) been going about 3 years as well. Also appears to be crapping out now. I mentioned to the AC tech something about the first one failing due to bad capacitor, and them sending me a refurb of same model...and I said, "Surely they would replace that bad capacitor with a different type, one that would not fail like the other one..." and I heard a knowing laugh...as if to say, "Damn right we'd make the same mistake twice."
If they want to replace it, they make you send back the old one. But now the old b AP cards are worth I guess around $150 or so, depending who you ask. How much of a hassle is it to sell...I think I might just crack this egg open and sell the good card inside and toss the rest...and be done with it instead of AAPL sending me another shiatty refurb unit...doubtless it won't be a graphite, but it WILL be something that failed before.
Then I'd have to buy a new wireless router. Need rex there, please. Any recent deals you've seen on them (price and vendor) would also be EXTREMELY helpful AND appreciated. I'm on a 900 mhz G3 iB and a 1.67 PB.
