Although I am a fan of Sting, his concerts are kinda "ehh".

There was a free Best Buy sponsored Sting concert at NYC's Central Park in 2000.
And I saw him again (with Annie Lenox) at Madison Square Garden 5(?) years ago maybe.

He kinda just stands there. No alternative takes on songs. Not too much banter with the audience. Etc..

hope it's a great show! Paul Simon is my absolute favorite next to Bonnie Raitt. Sting ain't too shabby either - strapped to a rocket or no.
:agree: Bonnie Raitt is GREAT! Paul too.

Quick review:
Nice concert, glad I went. Would probably not have been worth traveling farther or paying more for...
Sound not great-- about what I'm used to from an opening act.
I think both artists are about bringing their music to their fans rather than nailing the arena experience to the wall. Somewhere in the middle would have been good.
Sting-- better singer (flawless, actually), Paul-- better voice.
Put a rocker and a folk singer together to harmonize and the rocker needs to stay a little farther from the mic.
Audience-- pretty homogenously 40s and 50s, pretty even m/f split-- practically no-one had their kids in tow, which I'm not used to.
