It does. but I have 10.8 and there is an update which deals with the SSL problem. So you do not need to go to Mavericks to get the security upgrade. (This is from someone who is holding off on going to Mavericks because I need keep software going.)

I'm on 10.8.6 on my two Macs, too. I'll probably update, but haven't seen any urgent reason to do so.
