Epson R200 Print Heads?
#1
ever since i bought a laser printer, i've used my R200 sparingly. too sparingly i guess as it's not printing colors correctly.

i've run the cleaning procedure 3 times and all but one of the six carts is fine. cleaning rips through ink. is the clog in the cart or in the printer itself? should i keep cleaning or simply replace the offending cart?

I've got an older 820 that I use about once a week. At times, if I haven't used it in a month or so, I will have to run the cleaning cycle 6 or 8 times.

I know it uses ink, but what's the option, junk the printer?

yes, but is the clog in ink cart or in the printing apparatus?

if it's in the cart, i'll just replace the clogged cart; there isn't that much ink left in it anyway. at least it'll keep the working carts from depletion.

if the clog is in the printer, then maybe i need to figure out some other cleaning procedure.

Epson print heads clog easily - everyone knows that...

If you don't use your epson printer on a regular basis, it will clog the print head - game over.

Junk the thing and get a canon...

canon doesn't print on cds with out a hack.

are the print heads in the inkcart or the printer?

once someone helps me out here with an actual answer for my question, i'll be sure to print on it at least once a day, ok...

The print heads are not in the epson cartridges. The ink may be dried up in the head but multiple cleaning may clean it out. Try a new cartridge the new ink may be a little more fluid than the old ink.
