Breaking Bad fails to show the impact of the meth addiction on people's real lives. It's all exciting Heisenberg stuff, which to me is both addictive and phony.

Livin' the good life…

It seemed as if there was some kind of fix in the voting.

Personally, I found the show to be horribly dark and not at all entertaining.

As a fan of True Detective, I certainly felt that there were other more deserving shows than Breaking Bad.

I welcome your views.

The benchmark in safe, harmless stories is Winnie the Pooh.
True Detective sounds like a cop show... and as such likely has people at their worst, right?
I just can't get into that, either. Fantasy violence like Bourne Conspiracy, 007, etc, I can take, though.

This was the Emmy voters last chance to give awards to "Breaking Bad" so they went for it. That's all that was about.

EDIT: this was not a critique of the show. Just a fact that it was Last Call for honoring it.

Breaking Bad won so many votes because everything about it was awesome. The characters, dialog, story, acting, editing, cinematography, lighting, etc. It was great on so many levels.

Of course, that's just my opinion.

My nephew says he uses his Emmy (for writing) to bring to spec presentations and hold down monthly bills on his desk.
