My Mac quit nagging me to update to Yosemite

I dislike the Apple Nanny State:

1) OS updates like this. I do not see how to turn it off (you can in programs like iTunes, but not the OS).

Control-click on the Yosemite banner in the App Store under the Updates tab and opt to hide it, just like any other software update.
and it comes back the next time you run Software Update.
The banner comes back. Does the notification?

So far, I'm liking Yosemite more than the others in the recent past. I like the looks and the fonts. Nothing has broken that I can tell. iTunes feels nicer and Safari is way better. Don't know why they took away the back (delete) button. That's the main reason I use Chrome the most.

Are you referring to the ability to use the keyboard's delete key to go back a page in Safari?

I think that's been missing a while now. At least it's not working for me in 10.7.5.

I used it a lot, but also unintentionally, a lot.

Yeah, it's been gone for a while. There's a "way" to get it back but I don't want to do Terminal with it. I use Safari and Chrome about the same amount. I like 'em both. Safari syncs stuff with my iPhone really well and Chrome syncs stuff with my Android phones really well. I want it all to mash together.
