Don't worry. It'll stay free (I expect). I do intend to sell a version, but only by adding features, not by taking them away from the free version.

"Free ... for the time being" is the most common comment I've seen so far. Have developers been that bad, lately?

And besides, I'm not really giving it away. I'm building a user base, so that I have people to appeal to when there's an impressive non-free version to be had. Some day.

I like free stuff especially when it's good, useful stuff!

And welcome to our little corner of the Mac universe Curtis! Wink

Welcome!

The cool-aid is in the water chiller, but please use the Sharpie (it was free A/R) and mark you cup. We like to keep our overhead down.

I downloaded, registered, and tried this last night.

1. geocode mapping (IP address -> city/state/country) is cute, but essentially useless. I am interested in noting/blocking banner ads -- I can recognize a domain name and guess its purpose much more readily than trying to figure out if "unknown ??" is a site I really want to allow or deny. Please, please, please enable reverse DNS lookup for the lite version. Pretty please?

2. the allow/deny popup is huge and blocks too much of the underlying page-load-in-progress. Could it be smaller with a "v Details" expander selection?
The smaller popup should show
==================================
Application "name" is connecting to
Name: (rDNS name value for IPaddr) at
IP Address: nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn
Allow: [X] . . Deny: []
Remember this [x]once []this run []this login []always
> Details
==================================

3. When the popup is dismissed, please return control/focus to the previous application.

4. Instead of a popup, could a menubar dropdown be used instead?

5. I like the 'alert' sound used (tick); will it be user-selectable in some future version?

Enough nit picking; thanks for the test drive!
