an iTunes issue after going v12 to v11
#1

I'm on Maverick 10.9.5. After upping to v12, it sucked, I tried to step back to v11 with the info I found and I get this.
iTunes works but will not share or allow iTune store.

I'm quite sick of iTunes as many have discussed here.
Any ideas to fix.?
I Repaired permissions.

For the record, I know this sounds insane, but v12 corrupted the file when I tried to change from Home video to TV show or movie.

There is a how to guide for downgrading from iTunes 12 to 11. Apparently it isn't as simple as just replacing the app. Here is a website with the guide. Be sure to read the notes as there are additional tips there. http://www.macworld.com/article/2839797/...es-11.html

I had also planned to downgrade but I was going to go back even further. I bought a snow leopard machine just for that purpose. Then I realized old versions of iTunes cannot sync to the new iPhones. i would prefer the sync process be unbundled from iTunes. It really shouldn't be there since it also syncs photos and documents that have nothing to do with iTunes.

this may be more or less the same methodology.

I went back to iTunes 10.7, which is missing a few minor perks of 11. But for the time being.
It works way better in changing the media type from whatever to the right kind.
It doesn't even have Home Movies.

So far so good.

I dragged and old library in, so there was a starting file of 10.7 vintage.
Deleted everything from the library.
The d&d'd everything back in, as it seemed the smarter thing to do.
Signed into iTunes store, voila.
