That "on" I wrote should be "in", no TBolt necessary. Shaves that $1500 right down to affordable!

Not sure thats possible -- since your minis internal is limited to 6 GB/s -- if its a newer one.

RAID0: 2x 500 MB/sec = 1GB/sec

For fun I RAID0d 3x USB3 Samsung 5TB external drives (before cracking open the cases to get the internal mechanisms) and got 467MB/sec Write and 460 MB/s Read. Which is faster than USB3 can do on a single channel— multiple channels helps. For $330 total, that's a damn cheap 'n easy 450+MB/s editing system.
