Facebook addiction is like cocaine

I am not surprised that people can get hooked on FB. There are a lot of diversions on there.

I check a few times a day but I don't use my iphone to check when I am with other people. I make it a rule not to phub while with friends and family. I also don't play any of the games. I don't post and participate in political discussions.

I check into the form many more times a day than I check FB. All that being said, I can quit any time I want.

I love FB because it connects me with my far-flung family and friends.

However, I know people who have their mobile devices set up to let them know when any Friends post on FB, at which time they will pick up the phone to see who posted and what they wrote. I can't be bothered with that sort of thing.

I do let my iPhone tell me if I have received a Private Message, because I have a couple of clients who use PMs as their preferred method of communication. So if it's a business PM that requires immediate attention I will respond even if socializing at the time. Because work.

same here. my son gets an alert every time a friend posts. that would drive me bonkers. i did finally cave and get Messenger for PMs. i get alerts for that as only a few close friends message me. i don't in general let folks know i'm online to message. yes, those friends could also text me but sometimes messenger is more convenient.
