Looking into buying a Lightscribe DVD burner - suggestions?
#1
I've been looking at this:

http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?pid=10071

I'm relatively new to the whole Lightscribe thing - so any advice, experience, etc would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Jerry

you can get cheaper LS drives that aren't from Lacie, but they don't come with the labeling software...

I did an unofficial review of a particular model a while back:

Still using it; very happy with it both in terms of burning and labeling.

[EDIT]: That's the exact model I have. Zero complaints. Let me know if you have any questions.

I'm thinking of the same thing Jerry, only I already have an external enclosure and I want to get rid of the old NEC drive that's in it and get a lightscribe enabled bare drive for replacement.

They appear to be under $35 at newegg:

If you buy a LightScribe drive from any one other than Lacie you will have to pay seperatly for the Mac compatible software, either Lacies or from http://smileonmymac.com/disclabel/index.html
