Alan Dershowitz's take
#1
On CNN Alan Dershowitz offered what seemed to be a reasonable analysis. He said that Comey figured Clinton would win, and wanted to make sure that the FBI had staked out potential problems before the election.

The problem, Dershowitz said, is that a vague revelation of this sort could sway the election, and that therefore Trump might win. And what if the "found" emails reveal nothing?

Comey's letter would then seem to be a sinister attempt to manipulate an election, or at a minimum a clumsy and inept warning that had no real purpose.

I actually lean towards "clumsy and inept". The guy seriously has no ideas about how to handle hot button issues in a diplomatic or neutral way. His announcement in July was bungled, and his letter on Friday was bungled. He needs to be fired but it would look like revenge on Obama's part, so I guess it has to wait for the New Broom of the transition period in January. Unless he has the grace to resign.

Everyone when he started out sang his praise. However, he seems to have violated every FBI rule and with this latest really flopped. I still hear people singing his praises even with the latest. I don't think he will be around long if Hillary gets in but Trump loves Comey.

I'm just glad he is a very conservative Republican. He is disliked by almost everyone.
