My safari slows my MBP down. It's like there has been some coding issue on the internet that spins the beachball trying to do some data mining.

bwicklander has a point. There are occasional times when browsing gets stupid slow because of some internet problem, usually related to ad servers.

wurm, I totally understand your desire to figure out why the problem only recently popped up without the need to throw money at it.
