Opinions on Clean Install: copy home folder or built it from scratch?

Interesting: I just received a personal email from Ben, the guy who creates the backup helper apps over at MacDaddy, and in response to "copy over Home Folder or not" he said this:

"In regards to clean installs - I used to do the same as you and start from scratch. However for the past few years I have found that method I propose to be just as effective, and now I wouldn’t do it any other way (I actually tried a couple of times out of curiosity and found it to horribly break my keychain, and mail.app archives and stuff, and totally unnecessary in retrospect)"

This is just the experiment I was hoping someone really skilled would do, and it sounds like just copying over the entire Home Folder (as he suggests on his site) is quite safe.

I'm going to try it myself the next time I do a clean install.

Definitely! (I forgot until I opened a doc this morning and realized so).
