Help_Blue screen at start up on Tiger
#1
I hosed myself by loading Flock 7.6 from the Photobucket web site. Trying to upload mass quantities. First the curser froze up. Then on reboot I get the gray apple screen then the infinite blue screen (no beach ball, no icons, nada). Running 450dp g4 with tiger. Can someone help with order of fixes?
I ran hardware test and repaired permissions. No change. It will boot in safe mode. What next? I am a newb to blue screen of death and too stupid to have a cloned copy of the HD.

OK here are the steps that I think I should follow:

Boot into safe mode (shift) and check the start up items. Make sure 3rd party software isn't whacking the start up procedure. Run find for anything with "flock" attached to it and delete.

Try to install applejack and run from terminal if possible.

Log in at root level and trash possibly corrupt finder .plist.

Run Disk Warrior.

Archive and install new system.

I hope these are in the correct order. If anyone else has any suggestions or exceptions don't be shy.

Bingo.

Man, I love it when a plan comes together. Flock loaded a menue bar that is supposed to play on start up and it hosed the finders logic. Removed and rebooted. Thanks to everyone on the forum for your help! Guess the brains took Columbus day off. Hope this place isn't turning into dealmac ;-)
