And a liar. Jeez, what a liar.

For more than a year, Trump has said NATO is outdated and costing the United States too much money, suggesting replacing it with an alternative organization focused on counterterrorism and repeatedly using the word “obsolete.” As recently as January, Trump continued to stand by this position — which alarmed many NATO members — saying in a Jan. 15 interview with the Times of London and Germany’s Bild that NATO is “obsolete because it wasn’t taking care of terror” and that critics of his comments have “started saying Trump is right.”

During a joint news conference Wednesday afternoon with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Trump professed that his criticisms prompted the alliance to make changes that satisfied his concerns--though he did not specify what those were.

“I complained about that a long time ago, and they made a change — and now they do fight terrorism,” Trump said. “I said it was obsolete. It's no longer obsolete.”

It's unclear what changes the president was referencing.

In an interview on Wednesday afternoon, the president revised his positions on the Federal Reserve’s chair, the Export-Import Bank, and China’s monetary policy.

"Revised his position" my ass. He was lying then and he's probably lying now, but he has more people advising him on how to "think" these days.

All through the campaign he just parroted Breibart/Fox/right wing show host talking points. Whatever got the crowd to cheer. And because he has zero experience governing and zero interest in learning or doing critical thinking, it's unsurprising that he'd get into office, get told that his campaign rally rhetoric was all BS, be told what to say by people who know what they're talking about, and just do it. This is particularly true with anything that involves foreign policy, diplomacy, lawmaking, or macroeconomics. The guy has zero knowledge or experience in those areas.

It's really all I expect of the guy at this point.

I started to watch today's news conference but only made it a few minutes before I had to mute the sound. He is the worst speaker we've ever had in the oval office.

Who's really stupid are the people who voted for him and continue to support him even after it can be shown in simple sentences that he lied to their faces, again and again and again.
With more to come. It's America's citizens who are allowing their own country to be destroyed by Trump and his Republican Armies.

True dat.
Verily.
If anybody is an expert on voting for a candidate "and continue to support him even after it can be shown in simple sentences that he lied to their faces, again and again and again", you are a perfect example, SteveG.
