Wordpress theme help, please.
#1
Due to my generous, all-giving nature, I've been asked to do a non-profit site in wordpress. I'll figure that out, but I don't feel qualified (haven't been in the market ever) to judge sites that offer themes for sale. I search and see many listed, but I don't know who might be an honest, objective reviewer of these sites and who might have more of a marketing agenda. Has anyone here dealt with these sites that sell membership to access their "pro" themes? Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks for any help with this.

Elegant Themes is one of the most popular and best. There Divi page builder is really good as well.

are you generally comfortable with technology? any design sense?

You might consider picking one of the "page builder" plugins for Wordpress and putting something together custom, rather than buying a theme. I have used Beaver Builder ( https://www.wpbeaverbuilder.com ) for several sites and really like it. There are other page builders out there, but I don't like any of them quite as much.

feel free to PM me with any questions.

If the needs are simple, stick with WordPress.com. It helps to mitigate the need to stay vigilant about updates, and it's $48/year for their minimum plan with a custom domain.

Otherwise, I've used Avada for a couple of sites I've built.

All the advice is appreciated, I'm looking into the page builders now, and will probably go that route. Beyond this project, I have several artist friends who could probably benefit from a website, so I'll see if I can make more of a hobby of wordpress than just the one off. Thanks again for the valuable input, everyone.
