A rift in WWV time?
#1
Over the last week or two maybe, my three 'atomic' clocks and my computers display time two minutes behind my iPad, 'Phone, and Watch. DuckDucking the time gives me the same time as my computers.

Or my iPad, 'Phone, and Watch are displaying time two minutes ahead.

So I'm blaming att as that's were my iDevices reference their time. My computers are on Sonic.

This is new. I've never seen this before. Two minutes isn't a big deal, but given the tech involved, I'm surprised it happens at all, or at least in an amount that can be resolved on a typical watch or clock.

Anybody know where att gets its Time?

Cellular devices get their time from cell towers and it's often a little bit off from Naval Observatory time or (Internet) NTP time servers.

I think I know why this is happening. I have a suspect setting you can check.

Somewhere on iPhone or Apple Watch there is a setting to show the actual time, or 1, 2 or 5 min ahead. My guess this got activated and it shows now 2 minutes ahead on all your devices.

Now don't ask me where it is since I have been looking for the past 5 minutes on my iPhone and also in the Watch App (but not the watch itself) and I cannot find it. Damn it.

found it. It is on the watch itself, not in the Watch App. That should be set at +0 min, what is yours, +2 min by any chance?

Maybe it’s Apple’s new “Timmy Time”?

It's Jony's farewell. He reduces size, removes ports, and can even make time disappear.

It is.

And that only affects the Watch, not my 'Phone or iPad.

I have the utmost respect for any Time Master or Time Lord (well, almost any TL).
