He's desperate to fulfill that campaign promise because being cruel to immigrants and pretending the wall is helpful may end up as all he's got. He tweeted today that the wall is "going up rapidly" which is a complete falsehood and of course that other stuff is Amazon WaPo Fake News! The problem with a physical wall: we can actually check to see if it's there.
