confused about texting from iPad
#1
I sent a group text today to:
Aileen
Summer
John
Curtiss
Amy

Message created TWO groups for some reason. One has everyone's name in it and the other group is missing Curtiss. Some responses went to the original group and some went to the extra group.

I thought it might have something to do with email addresses so I checked:
Aileen, Curtiss and Summer all have gmail accounts while Amy and John have none (in my address book).

Very confusing. Does anyone know what's up? I'm worried that some people are not seeing each others messages.

TL/DR: Some messages will be sent via SMS (Green), some via iMessage (blue). It gets weird because different messaging protocols are in use.

Yes, it's much neater if everybody is on iOS where Messages (blue) is used instead of SMS (green).

A little bunny trail — I was watching a Brit TV show a good while back where somebody got an SMS. Their phone was set on vibrate so we here the 'silent' ring (which is why school kids prefer the 'skeeter ringtone).

With years of copying code, the ••• — — ••• was immediately understood. Made me laugh. I don't recall if I heard it on any US phones.

iOS lets one program custom vibes. I wish I could do that for all SMSs. But I get so few it doesn't matter much.
