In 1988, a heinous act of kidnapping occurred in nearby Hayward, CA.

Michaela Joy Garecht, nine years old, fell victim to a ruse to kidnap her from the Rainbow Market in Hayward, and to this day has never been found.

She is presumed dead by many, including myself.

On Monday, 21 Dec 2020, the Hayward Police Department announced the Alameda County District Attorney's office has charged David Emery Misch, with the kidnapping and murder of Michaela Garecht.
