While I'd like to think the spirit of Senator Jefferson Smith is still alive, the cynic in me looks at the photo and sees a brilliant political move that will pay dividends in future elections.

It is sad that modern politics has driven me to automatically think that way.

I think this guy was sincere, from the story I read in the paper anyway.
