A bunch of progressive things happening that I'm happy about
#1
Virginia has voted to end the death penalty, Governor will sign. Significant also because Va has carried out more death sentences than any other state.

Virginia has voted to legalize marijuana. Not complete yet but will be one of first states to do this legislatively, not by ballot initiative.

NLRB says Amazon Alabama union vote must go forward. Biden removed the anti worker people from that board so maybe they can do their job now.

Not complaining - just wishing these kinds of ideas were thought of as fundamental rather than progressive. We've allowed certain kinds of rights to be stepped on for centuries. Doesn't mean they were ever right (or left, as the case may be)…

I didn't get the word "progressive" either considering how the term has been politically redefined. I also oppose the legalization of Marijuana until there is a commitment to economic justice for those that have been punished for selling it. I'm not "for" white men making millions legally while Black men and boys that were incarcerated for it get nothing. Some municipalities try (Oakland, Los Angeles and Berkeley does), but it hasn't worked out yet. The law legalizing it should prioritize them regarding monetizing it.

But, I know it's not going to work out for the Black folk and I do want it legalized. But I have to fight for justice.

When I use progressive I dont mean the faction of the Dem party that calls itself Progressives. I mean these events represent forward motion for society, positive change.

Oh. Literally.... Literally. For some reason, when I type Literally, it doesn't look right.
