curious - 13" Air vs 13" Pro

Doesn't the screen brightness have more to do with contrast than simply absolute brightness?

I've got my eye on an M1 Air because my use case is light enough that a fan isn't needed.

My screen brightness is never over 50%, so I'm not nit-picky.

WIth an M1 at the ready, I should be very happy with the base 8/256 configuration.

I thought the MBP has a couple more ports, but I slept through class, and... the MBA is more my speed.

But are you 100 nit-picky?!

Same number of ports on both first gen M1 laptops.

They both have Retina screens. How can one be nicer than the other. Retina is Retina, isn't it?

The MacBook Pro's 13.3-inch screen is 100 nits brighter than the Air's, but otherwise both computers share the same 2,560 x 1,600 Retina Display.

The brightness does make a significant difference.
Not if you keep the brightness turned down anyway. Big Grin

Oh, and the MBP has the touch bar.

So, good reason to get the Air instead?
Yes.
