Thermostat recommendations?

I had the Honeywell programmable with internet. If you just want to be able to set your temp and monitor it remotely it will do the job. You may want to check with your HVAC guy if you have multiple zones though, not sure what that would entail.

I went with Ecobee for mine with a handful of remote sensors. I like it a lot.

That it works with HomeKit is awesome.


However good other brands may be, I think HomeKit makes the ecobee a real winner.

No issues with my Ecobee. Homekit integration is nice. The remote temperature sensors are a nice feature for my house. These sensors can be used to run HomeKit automations with the help of the Eve app.

My BIL who can get Honeywell and most other connected thermostats at a discounted price went with a retail price Ecobee based upon his experiences with the others.
