How do you know it costs $5 if you don't know that part number, etc?
What model of Inspiron do you have? You know,"...as a former Netowork Administrator, working on 500+ node networks..."I figured you'd have the easy resources to find such a part (or part number). ; ) ...what's your notebook model, and perhaps I (or somebody) can help. Which type of video out are you wanting? There are a couple different cables that do both composite/SVHS...SVHS-only or Composite-only with the same port. That's nice your Dad purchased a laptop for you.
