[quote mrbigstuff]I got a 300mhz, nice condtion, blue clammer. Has 96mb RAM, 3gb HD, no FW, one USB. Can I get some legacy software and some hardware kludge to use wi-fi on this thing?
I'm thinking iKitchen computer ;->
I am perhaps the wrong one here to comment, as everyone knows I love these machines.
Nevertheless, I am going to comment.
Given your statements, here's what I'd suggest you do:
1) Add +256MB RAM. Don't bother with the 512 meg chip, it's overpriced relative to what you need to do.
2) Buy a cheap USB-wireless or Ethernet-wireless adapter.
3) Install Panther, when doing the install, choose only the absolute minimum options (no extra languages, no extra printer drivers, etc.)
4) Install recipe software so that you and the missus can look things up when not listening to tunes.
5) Attach nice external speakers to headphone port.
6) Set up wireless sharing over iTunes from your other, "better" Mac.
7) Put the clam on top of a nice Lazy Susan.
8) Carry on, my wayward son!
