Plumbing: Replacing Bathtub Diverter Spout & a HD rant
#1
After 5+ yrs. of use, the bathtub diverter spout became a victim of
mineral deposits. Check Homies on line, same model in stock.
Rush over & NONE on-hand. Ask the Orange Vest dude, he laughs and
states the inventory system is a joke.
Have to go with a higher priced replacement. btw, display pricing is not
the actual (higher) price it rings up at and neither match the on-line price!
/rant
Job done, caulking applied; I swear removing & replacing caulking is always the hardest part :oldfogey:

If marked price on shelf is less, they will adjust to lower price, if you ask.

Welcome to the tail of the supply chain. The broken, leaky, expensive as heck supply chain. The end result of decades of offshoring.

Also, if they are out of your item and have to substitute a higher priced item, up to a $50 difference, they will give you the lower price, but it will require an actual cashier to do it.
At least that was the pre-Covid policy.

If you have time the HD in store pickup from the locker is pretty good.

Saw a good sale on an item and local store had a couple, but farther store had a bunch. Buy for pickup from local store - get an email an hour later saying out of stock. Buy from farther store - ready for pickup another hour later.
