Drool-worthy. I won't be able to get one until our magic Big Brother software is compatible with Monterey (so far, the Apple privacy protection is trumping the anti-internal threat software).

Its about being a "laptop" for many of these tests. Its not the fastest in every test, but is in many -- but more to the point, its about the *portability*.

Tasks take the same amount of time whether plugged in or not -- unlike the PC counterparts. Performance never suffers. And while on battery, the difference between using 3% to perform some heavy duty tasks vs 35+% on the PC -- again throttled -- is really killing them.

My recommendation for all my "mobile" users is the 16" with the M1P for the better battery... and performance thats near the same as the M1M.

Im never mobile, but would have no problem using one.

I am really leaning that way. I want a smaller machine, but my eyes are aging, and the battery life, the better thermals...and even the better speakers are calling my name.
