MLB 9pm Eastern Lockout
#1
Contracts need to be tendered or negotiated before that deadline. Well they don't actually have to be but it would be best if they were. Who knows how long the lockout will last. Now it's all about signings and acquisitions. Then at the end of the season, it's all about who's not injured and which team can best limp into the playoffs.

Dodgers already lost stud Max Scherzer and super stud Corey Seager to the Mets and Rangers respectively. I actually don't mind losing them too much. Max wanted 3 years and the Dodgers only offered 2. Rangers paid Corey $325 million and the Dodgers weren't going to pay that since they have Trae Turner ready to step into his spot. I'm hoping they can retain Chris Taylor but it's a lot of money out there and he's ripe to be overpaid.

The Rangers are clearly ramping up for a run. They'll be interesting to watch next year. The Tigers picked up super stud Javy Baez. He's got a bit of mercury in him though. Tigers look good though.

Juan Soto of the Nationals is putting up the numbers of a player in his mature prime at just 23 years old. The Nationals are like a stud farm for other teams because some team is going to pay him between $400 to $500 million when he hits free agency.

It won't be $tevie's beloved Orioles as long as control stays with the
Angelos family.
With their cable TV franchise, they make money even if the park is empty.
And, that TV deal gives them revenue from all Nationals' games too!

It is a shame how a bunch of rich lawyers have destroyed a once proud
team with a great heritage.
betcha Earl, Frank, and Paul Blair are looking down in disbelief.

The financial numbers you are tossing around are, frankly, absurd.

And I am a baseball fan.

But no athlete is worth $300M. Not even Lebron James.

Well. Since they won't pay them a penny more than they have to, they are clearly worth it. If they could pay them less, they would.
