The sequel: Amazon Returns - Refund Shenanigans...
#1
prior post

On chat with Amazon (India?):
Appears Amz Return Ctr. never got the package their driver picked-up on 01/13.
Amz system verifies the locker was opened & closed (by me) and later the same
day opened, closed, and pkg scanned by their driver.
POOF! disappeared, never made it to the Amz regional ctr.

Rep. got my CC credited in two hours.
Shenanigans alert cancelled!

We take all Amazon returns to Kohl's Dept. store, once it's in their hands it's done on my part.

What sort of receipt do they give you?

I drop mine at the UPS Store, it doesn't even have to be in a box. I get a receipt then by the time I get back home, an email from amazon sez my return is complete and I'm credited. I admit that I don't return much so maybe not all experiences will be the same.

Kohl's will give you a drop off receipt similar to UPS. Along with a coupon to try and get you to shop in the store. And the Amazon return desks always seem to be in the back of the store so you have to walk through the entire store twice...

That's been my experience also. The UPS store is closer, although I have done returns at Kohls if I know there's something I want there because in addition to a return receipt they usually give you a discount to be used that day there.

The Whole Foods down at the corner periodically takes returns-- I'm guessing it's Covid dependent as to when they're available. While it's super-convenient, it can take all sorts of time to get someone to come to the return counter...., so it's a more pleasurable experience to go to the UPS store 5 blocks away. The old Staples (6 blocks the other direction) was our old go-to, and they gave out a letter size paper receipt from a networked laser printer. Sadly, when their rent got tripled, Staples bailed, and somehow Target ended up in the space thru some shenanigans that skirted the city's ban on Target, Walmart, and a few others. UPS's receipt is on a big label, and WF's receipt is on cash register paper roll tape. When Covid closures were peaking, the staffed Amazon Locker down the street from UCLA (4.5 miles away) was the closest option.

I do locker, at least 4 within 10 blocks of me, or USP store, maybe just over a mile away. The Amazon Fresh hub is maybe 3 miles away as well.
