OT: Impressive Before & After Pictures (Katrina; MS Gulf Coast)

Still tough to look at; my whole life has been spent in New Orleans and along the Gulf Coast. I lost my house, and in essence my daily life, but not even close to the level these people -- my neighbors -- did.

Oh boy. Talk about total devastation of that building. That after picture is just sad.

Wow. I'm glad that guy thought to take those before picts, but it's horrible to see what happened.

How are things going with you Zoidberg? I assume you got your family all moved into a new house? Is the family settling in a feeling more normal? I'd bet this Christmas will be a bit difficult for all of you.

Pretty amazing the power of a little water eh ?

BTW - Did you catch this story on NPR yesterday ? http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story...Id=5048315

It was a book put together just before Katrina and was ready to go to press when it hit
The book shows a lot of the old New Orleans. They added an epilog about Katrina.

They were determined to print it in N O and had a problem even getting paper.

They said first printing will be sold out this week and they are having
problems getting a second printing arranged

Amazing how the trees survived better than the buildings. The power and strength of nature and the story of man's attempt to live with it.
