Apple Mail Account Keeps Crashing Mail Program
#1
Power went out last night which she was working on her laptop. Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro running El Capitan.

Mail would crash upon launch. Got it to open but her main account (Comcast) crashes mail program as soon as you click on it. Google account appears to work fine.

Unless I missed something in my searching you can't rebuild the account if he crashes all the time.

Other solution offered is to delete the account and install it again.

Anybody got any tricks on how to resolve this other than deleting the account? Will do it if I have to but wondered if there are other options.

I've run Cocktail, Disk Utility, and Diskwarrior but obviously no go.

TIA

Tossed the Envelope indexes and allowed it to re-import the mailboxes?

Well don't know what the heck happened but I disabled the email account and enabled it after a few and eventually it all went back to normal. Account now works and does not crash mail.

Go figure.
