What kind of cord is this with necklace?
#1
I bought this and the chord is too short for my incredibly thick neck. I'd like to buy more chord but I'm not sure what it is. Any ideas?

Braided macrame cord, possibly hemp.

I think the macrame looks right. I’m seeing different thicknesses. I’ll give it a go. Thanks for the help!

Looks more like knitted than knotted (macramé). As long as you match or complement the color it should be fine.

If you find something that’s close but no cigar, you might consider using it to craft an extender for the back with another loop and bead. That cord is pretty cool and fairly unique looking.

I agree that adding an extender would be the best way to go, as the original is an interesting weave and already matches the wrapping and loop used to mount the pendant.

If you wear this with a shirt collar that hides the back, it will hide the extender. If you wear this with a collarless shirt then it might be nice to make an extender that harmonizes with or complements the main necklace. Since an exact match would be so hard to find, I would be inclined to make an extender in a shade of brown similar to that of the knob in the back. The contrasting color would turn the extender into an apparent design element rather than a makeshift solution. And a contrasting extender would not need to be an exact match to the weave of the original.
