Railway Machinist Union has voted down the tentative agreement and to strike....

but they put an extension on it to not strike until the end of the month in hopes of getting them to negotiate more. Been hearing from a lot of my IAMAW (International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers) and BLET (Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen) Brothers and Sisters this morning. I held the position of Communicator and Webmaster for our Local for about 12 years with my Local before being forced onto Medical retirement by the Railroad Retirement Board.

"Railroads say they won’t lock out workers as negotiators meet with Labor Secretary Walsh"

It'll be a mess if they strike. The article makes it sound like both sides want a deal. I hope so.

I'm traveling with my husband to Mississippi on a train at the end of September. Returning Mid-October. I hope. Sad

And what’s up with getting only a 21 day prescription refill if you are a railroad employee?

News this morning is that working late into the night with the involvement of Biden and Buttigieg, railroads and the unions have come to a tentative agreement.
