They played this song at the student union at UCLA pretty much 10 times a day, if not more. Brazil 66. I think it was in 1964 that I remember this from.

Loved her voice. She had a long life, I hope it was a good one.

Mendes did record it in '64 (album released in '66) asGarota de Ipanema, with an all star band: Sérgio Mendes - piano Art Farmer - flugelhorn Phil Woods - alto saxophone Hubert Laws - flute Antônio Carlos Jobim Tiao Neto - bass Chico de Souza - drums https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYvUx3kNtoU

It's one of the very few songs I could listen to, ten times a day or more. At least, in theory. My first exposure to it was Getz/Gilberto in '63 or maybe '64. I bought it for Garota de Ipanema but loved the whole album. Gilberto is on one other track, Corcovado (Hunchback, LOL). If I recall correctly, she's not given credit on the album, but her husband is. Strictly speaking, neither had great singing voices, her's I like more than his, but the sum was greater than the parts. The vinyl is long gone, quite played out, but I do have the CD. Surprisingly, it's one of the few instances where I miss the warmth of a 'live' vinyl sound v CD.
