A trip to a big box store?

You have some sentimental attachment to that microwave?

there are only so many things that go kaput on these things. plus, I try to save adding to the landfill whenever I can, I think it's pathetic how much we discard -- as long as we can't see it.
I am totally in agreement with this philosophy, a "waste not" philosophy that was imparted to me by my parents who suffered through rationing and shortages in England during WWII. I will always try to fix something before disposing of it and have successfully revived dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, computers, and even a microwave. That said, my last microwave experience was much like yours...replaced microswitches, tested circuits, but could not get it to work reliably so eventually sent it off to electronics recycling heaven.
