Daughter and I have exactly the same phone, so I don’t think that was the issue.
She had fast speeds and I had slow.
Sorry, I didn't see that info.
No problem.

macphanatic wrote: when i travel i hotspot my iphone 11 from my iphone 14 using it exclusively for navigating. between that and streaming on the iphone 14 i easily use over 40gb a month. i’ve been home this month so have only used 1.5gb. Why don't you download maps for offline navigation? It should save a ton of data? Sometimes i do but offline maps don’t give real-time traffic updates and auto re-routing options. you need cell connectivity for that.

This is the issue I have mentioned several times with Visible or any MVNO that might be deprioritized. Even some postpaid Verizon accounts can be deprioritized.
It's a huge issue where growth had exceeded Verizon's buildout. The Tahoe and Reno areas have grown immensely since COVID and the system has not grown to match. We had to laugh last summer as we took a trip down 95 in the middle of Nevada and had absolutely perfect 4G LTE service that far exceeded anything we get in our area.

Supposedly the 5G plan I have gets the same (highest) data priority as Verizon postpaid. Paid $250 for a Black Friday special last fall...30GB/month data, 5GB hotspot.

I'm still on the 2007 att OG legacy plan.
I really out to change that, and Mint looks to be where I'd go. T-Mo gives me much better signal strength than att. My inner Luddite is concerned there's some gotcha I won't have anticipated when leaving Verizon has spotty coverage in my terrain, though their map would lead one to believe otherwise. |
