Holy hecking heck… just finished a second read of the book… I love Andy Weir’s work. And this trailer looks close…

Needs a year for all the CGI…

I didn't watch the trailer.

"No spoilers" is important to me, so I try to avoid trailers and those who want to spoil it for me.

Glancing at the comments through squinting eyes, ready to eject, I was amazed amazed amazed at all the positively ecstatic comments by people who've read the book but didn't post one spoiler.

That just doesn't happen.

Well hardly ever.

Anyway, I'll 'read' the book (surprise out the window) and maybe I'll forget a lot of it by the time the movie is here.

Right now, I have to consider planning to see F1.

Okay, I DID watch the trailer. I already like Gosling. This looks like it's going to be very good. And since it's based on a novel and the movie won't be out for a while, I may actually have time to read it and there's a better than likely chance that I'll forget a lot of it by the time the movie is here.

Not pleased with it. Looks like they threw away most of the 1st act and traded a clever origin for a “chosen one” trope.

This looks like a job for inadvisably applied magic if ever I saw one.

I strongly recommend the audio book version from Audible.  It adds a dimension to one of the characters that can't be replicated by just reading the book.  Don't get me wrong, the book is awesome by itself, but the audiobook adds a layer that I think really improves the story.

Definitely. That aspect of the story was perfect for an audiobook.

In for a credit.

I too will likely have a dim memory of it, by the time the movie opens.
