Best fax option from Mac?
#1
I need to send a fax (about 15 pages) to the Gov't.  It will contain tax forms and SSN numbers, so I need to go with a reputable source.  Does anyone have a program or vendor they've used and would recommend?  I found a place called faxZero.com.  For $2.09, it will let me send up to 25 pages with no branding on the cover page. Haven't checked into any others yet.

Other options would be to go somewhere like FedEx or UPS store... I think they do faxes, but they charge by the page and I remember doing that many years ago and it was expensive then.  And of course there's the option of mailing the stuff, but that has its own issues.

I had to send a 2-3 page form to the IRS about a year ago.
I used Fax Zero and it went just fine.

I believe at least a few of us use FaxZero. I do when needed, though I can't remember the last time I actually had to use it (ah, apparently it was over 4 years ago).

RZ,

Crazy as it sounds, there are many situations where you still need to send/receives faxes. Some of my customers still send orders via fax. Since you don't have a means to send your document via a fax machine from your home or office you might want to consider an online fax service. My company has used four different ones over the years. Our current provider is Redfax at http://www.redfax.com.

I can send a fax as a PDF via their service using email or I can log into the Redfax web site and upload a PDF file and send it as a fax. Both methods work well. Faxes received come to us via email. I can access a received fax via the web site, too.

Redfax's Personal Plan gives you 600 pages per month for $4.33 per month. The same plan as an annual plan is $39.99 per year. Redfax offers a 30 day money back guarantee.

While I frown on doing things like this, you _could_ sign up for a month, turn your document into a PDF file and send it via the web site. Confirm the document was received. Once confirmed, cancel the service. Not saying you should but it will get the job done...
